Two Centers for Heart Surgeries and Treatments

Advanced heart care is provided by Marshfield Clinic cardiologists at the team’s advanced treatment and surgical centers: Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield and Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston, just minutes south of Wausau.

Patients may be referred to one of these centers in both emergency and non-emergency situations, and transport will be provided when necessary. When patients with the most severe type of heart attack (ST-elevated heart attacks) start out at another hospital or are identified in the field, the team’s Rescue 1 system is enacted to stabilize, prepare and rapidly transport them to Marshfield or Weston / Wausau.

Weston / Wausau – Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital – 715-393-3000

An established cardiology department in Wausau enabled Marshfield Clinic cardiologists to provide advanced heart care to the Wausau area for many years before Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital opened in Weston in 2005. The state-of-the-art facility used protocols of care developed at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield to quickly establish a strong record for heart care. Clinical care continues to be provided in both Wausau and Weston Marshfield Clinic locations.
