In late August 2011, Agape Community Center welcomed a new Neighborhood Development Coordinator to work with residents and employers in the Old North Milwaukee neighborhood. This individual, through the AmeriCorps*VISTA program, will work on developing a neighborhood plan with the community, and will coordinate with community members to implement local improvements. The plan will guide Agape's future neighborhood revitalization efforts within Old North Milwaukee.
The Old North Milwaukee neighborhood extends further south than the current Agape Service Area boundary of Villard Avenue. As such, Agape staff is currently focused on working with residents and employers in the area north of Villard Avenue. In the future, these efforts may expand.
