Emergency Medical Services
Our Emergency Medical teams at Ministry Health Care provide comprehensive, regionally integrated ground and air transportation for adult, pediatric, neonatal, and high-risk obstetrical patients from referral institutions and scenes of injury. Emergency Medical Services teams provide critical care to those who need them most. Key members of our team include Paramedics, Registered Nurses, EMTs and Communication Specialists.
Unique to Ministry is our 911-based hospital system that includes four hospitals in northern Wisconsin. Benefits of this regionalized approach include standardized EMS protocols, policies and procedures. Our team works in collaboration with the Emergency Department team at these hospitals, also providing 911 response to the surrounding areas as well as interfacility ground transports.
Ministry Spirit Medical Transportation (SPIRIT) was established in 1993 in Marshfield and is designed to support, supplement and assist local and regional ambulances and other emergency services. SPIRIT plays a key role in any emergency medical transport of patients requiring advanced life support (ALS) or critical care management. Because of continued growth it has evolved to include bases in Weston, Woodruff, Rhinelander, and Stevens Point. All bases provide ground critical care transports with air services operating in Marshfield and Woodruff. In addition, Spirit provides dedicated Paramedic Intercept services out of Weston and Marshfield to rural volunteer ambulance services that cannot support a paramedic level of service on their own.
Ministry offers plenty of opportunity for career growth in Emergency Medical Services, and our patient-first philosophy sets us apart. Be a part of our teams, and experience this first hand.
