Critical Care Nurse Residency Program with Ministry Health Care

Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, WI offers experienced Registered Nurses or new graduates a formalized multimodality seven-month paid program in Critical Care. The program combines classroom, simulation lab, online, and on-the-job clinical training in a tertiary care environment. Registered Nurses learn valuable nursing skills and broaden the scope of their professional career. A Registered Nurse's participation is contingent upon a 2-year employment commitment with Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital.

Nurse Technician Program with Ministry Health Care

A nurse technician program is offered at multiple locations in Ministry Health Care: Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point, Wis.; Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, Weston, Wis.; and Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, Wis. As a nurse technician, there are many opportunities for professional growth. Nurse technicians will enhance their knowledge of nursing practice through active involvement with all aspects of patient care. As a member of the health care team, each individual will become familiar with the role of the Registered Nurse and other health care providers while experiencing a realistic work environment. Finally, each technician will be given the opportunity for observation time in areas of interest to which they are not currently assigned. The nursing internship will begin around June each year and lasts for 8 weeks. There may be opportunities to continue to stay on as a nurse technician in a casual position during the school year. Each nurse technician will be assigned to the same work commitment and shift rotation as their designated partner. Qualifications for the program include: enrollment in an approved school of nursing and successful completion of 2 semesters in an associate's degree program or third year in a bachelor's degree nursing program. Nurse technician positions are posted on the Ministry Health Care website around November of each year.
