Pharmacists at Ministry Health Care have the resources and connectivity of a health-system and home care system that includes both decentralized and centralized services focused on patient outcomes. Pharmacists make a difference in patient care daily by being at the patient’s bedside next to the physicians and nurses. Clinical subgroups explore clinical and therapeutic opportunities across the system. Scope of clinical services at our locations vary and include patient populations in neonatal/pediatric intensive care, trauma/emergency room services, metabolic support, pain consult, oncology, internal medicine, pharmacokinetics, cardiovascular, surgical and medical adult critical care.
Pharmacy technicians are an integral part of the pharmacy team. Technicians perform many duties that may include but are not limited to preparing non-sterile and sterile compounded medications for pharmacist check, utilitizing automated dispensing cabinet technology, and distributing medications to nursing units. Technicians work in a fast paced team oriented environment. Advancement opportunities exist and include pharmacy technician, pharmacy technician II, and technician supervisor positions.
Pharmacy Services occur in a teaching environment that include clerkship sites for PharmD students, clinical sites for student technicians, ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residencies, PGY-2 Health-System Administrative Residency, and intern programs. Our vast organization provides strong mentoring for new graduates and advancement opportunities for those looking to take the next step in their career.
