LORA D® Prone Stereotactic Breast Biopsy System

At Ministry Door County Medical Center we offer stereotactic breast biopsy, a technology that allows diagnosis of breast cancer at its earliest stages. Early diagnosis increases the chance of a cure.

What is Stereotactic Breast Biopsy?

Stereotactic breast biopsy is a simple, safe and minimally invasive procedure that takes approximately an hour and is performed in an outpatient setting.
The procedure starts by having the surgeon localize the abnormal area using digital imaging. They then numb the area by injecting a local anesthetic. A small incision is made, approximately one-quarter of an inch long, to allow insertion of the biopsy needle. Sampling of tissue typically takes just a few minutes and before you know it, the procedure is completed and you’re on your way back home.

Nuclear Medicine Diagnostic Confidence with the Phlips Forte Gamma Camera

New advanced nuclear diagnostic imaging equipment can potentially lead to life-saving treatment by diagnosing or excluding serious medical conditions. At Ministry Door County Medical Center we offer the only nuclear medicine camera in Door County—setting new standards in diagnostics by performing non-invasive, highly advanced diagnostic tests.
With nuclear imaging, our doctors are provided with a more advanced method of evaluating body function, including function of the heart, thyroid gland and kidneys. Nuclear medicine tests provide important information for evaluating symptoms with potentially serious causes, such as chest pain or shortness of breath. Ultimately this improves confidence when diagnosing patients and often produces a positive impact on patient care.
