The Medical/Surgical Unit (Med/Surg) is a 25-bed acute care general medical/surgical inpatient unit which operates 24 hours a day. Med/Surg takes care of pediatric to geriatric patients affected by respiratory, cardiac, GI, metabolic, of surgery, orthopaedic, and infectious disease conditions. Our staff cares for patients using a team approach; our unit consists of three teams each led by an RN. Other team members include RNs, LPNs, CNAs or Nurse Techs. The team leader manages of the team as well as patient care. PSRs offer clinical support from 7:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m. daily. Their responsibilities include housekeeping, dietary and general non-nursing functions.
