Free Health Fair at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital
The 28th Annual Community Health Fair will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital (MERMH) located at 201 Hospital Road. Sponsored by the partners, Auxiliary of MERMH, the health fair will feature exhibits, demonstrations, health information and free clinical testing.
“We really look forward to this event because it gives us an opportunity to interact with the community and provide free health services,” said Christine Caz, Ministry Howard Young Health Care Volunteer and Community Services Coordinator. “Along with hospital departments taking part in the event, we are also hosting a wide range of exhibits and information from local organizations such as the Community Blood Center, Eye Care Associates and more.” The Vilas County Public Health Department will again be offering T dap tetanus / pertusis immunizations’ for a low charge of $5.00.
FREE clinical testing will include non-fasting cholesterol testing, oximetry and blood pressure, blood sugar testing, visual acuity and glaucoma screening. Appointments are not necessary and the FREE screenings are available on a first come first serve basis.
Demonstrations will be offered on the Lifeline Program offered through the Auxiliary. MERMH’s new pet therapy program and Ministry Weight Management will also be featured during the health fair.
“Please join us for the 28th annual health fair,” added Caz. “Being informed about your health care and the services offered locally is the most important step you can take for living a healthy and active life,” added Caz. Staff will be available to answer your questions about the hospital, specific services and departments and programs.
