(EAGLE RIVER, Wis.) – The 30th Annual Community Health Fair will be held Saturday, June 14, from 8 a.m. to Noon at Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital (MERMH) located at 201 Hospital Road. Sponsored by the Partners - Auxiliary of MERMH, the health fair will feature exhibits, demonstrations, health information and free clinical testing.
FREE clinical testing will include non-fasting cholesterol and glucose screening, body mass index screening and hearing screening. Ministry Medical Group (MMG) Eagle River associates will be offering blood pressure screening. Appointments are not necessary and the FREE screenings are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
“Each year Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital and MMG Eagle River provides over 125 free screenings for residents of the Eagle River and surrounding communities,” said MERMH Public Relations and Communications Manager Matt Thompson. “Our dedicated associates and Auxiliary take great pride in offering these free services as clinical testing is an important step to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”
Health fair visitors will also be able to meet with professionals from Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital EMS and tour an ambulance, Ministry Weight Management, Ministry Medical Group Audiology, Northland Orthopedics, Dr. Kate Hospice, NW LEAN (Linking Education, Activity, and Nutrition) Coalition, Pet Therapy, Palliative Care, Advance Directives, Ministry Rehabilitation Services, the Marshfield Clinic/Ministry Health Care Heart Care Team, Daybreak of Eagle River, RTI Donor Services, and The Community Blood Center will be hosting a blood drive. The Partners – Auxiliary will be hosting a raffle and the hospital gift shop will be open during the health fair. The Vilas County Public Health Department will again be offering T dap tetanus / pertusis immunizations’ for a low charge of $10.00. MERMH and MMG Eagle River associates will be available to answer your questions about the hospital, specific services and departments and programs.
