(EAGLE RIVER, WI) – The Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Association (WOTA) honored Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital occupational therapist, Lori Kramer, with the WOTA Award of Excellence in Leadership. The award honors those who have excelled in the field of occupational therapy in Wisconsin.
Candidates for the WOTA Award of Excellence are measured in one of the following areas: the development of innovative treatment techniques, published research, published articles in professional journals, leadership qualities, education, and achievement in supervisory functions.
“WOTA is grateful to Lori for assuming a leadership role and doing it so well and is proud to confer the Award of Excellence in Leadership in recognition for her service,” said WOTA president Teri Black.
Kramer served for six years on the WOTA Board as North Central District Co-Chair, and as Vice President External. She also co-chaired two annual conferences and sits on the reimbursement committee. In 2005, Kramer received the Community Development Award from the Arthritis Foundation Wisconsin Chapter.
“I’m honored to have received the WOTA Award of Excellence,” said Kramer. “I strive hard to provide the best possible outcomes for my patients and it’s an honor to be recognized.”
Lori has been an occupational therapist with Ministry Health Care since 1988, and currently serves as the team lead in the rehabilitation department at Ministry Eagle River Memorial.
“Lori provides outstanding patient care and receives many compliments from her clients,” added Rehabilitation Manager, Kelly Hamerla, Ministry Howard Young Health Care. “She provides excellent leadership to the entire Ministry rehabilitation department.”
In addition to occupational therapy, Kramer is a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT).
The occupational therapists at MERMH treat a wide range of injuries and illness, including; orthopedic injuries of the upper extremities, hand injuries, stroke, arthritis, headaches, carpal tunnel syndrome, chronic pain and more. Additional services available include physical therapy, speech language pathology, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.
