GSHC RECOGNIZED FOR 75 YEARS OF MEMBERSHIP IN THE AMERICAN HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION
2009 marks the 75th anniversary of Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill’s membership in the American Hospital Association.
American Hospital Association Regional Executive Kim Byas, Sr., recently visited the facility to present a 75 year membership plaque.
The AHA is a not-for-profit association of health care provider organizations and individuals that are committed to the improvement of health in their communities. The AHA is the national advocate for its members, which includes more than 5,000 member hospitals, health systems and other health care organizations, and 38,000 individual members. Founded in 1898, the AHA provides education for health care leaders and is a source of information on health care issues and trends.
A member of the Ministry Health Care System, Good Samaritan Health Center was founded in 1923 by the Holy Cross Sisters. It is a primary care hospital providing inpatient care and surgery, outpatient surgery, oncology services, spiritual services, extended care, a full range of therapy, radiology and laboratory services as well as respite, emergency, and walk-in clinic services.
