GSHC TO HOST COMMUNITY EDUCATION PROGRAMS DURING “BE HEALTHY WEEK”
The Merrill Area Healthy Lifestyle Network (MAHLN) is sponsoring a week of activities to raise awareness in Merrill of the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The second annual Be Healthy Week will be held April 20-26 and encourages everyone to participate in some way.
As a part of this community initiative, Ministry Health Care’s Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill is hosting a pair of community education events.
In a program to promote healthy nutrition, registered dietitian Deb Kohler will present a community program entitled “Healthy Eating and Label Reading” on Wednesday, April 22. The program will be held from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the Good Samaritan Health Center Cafeteria. “Making healthy choices at your favorite restaurant or grocery store can contribute greatly to living a healthier lifestyle,” said Kohler. Active older adults are invited to the Menard Center on the Good Samaritan Health Center Campus on Friday, April 24 from 1 – 4 p.m. for “A Walk through the Decades.” Fun, food and informational programs are in store as participants are invited to join in presentations, games and trivia that will be guaranteed to bring back memories. Speakers will present on Financial and Emergency Room preparedness. This is a free program, but advanced registration is requested by calling 715.539.5090.
