Good Samaritan Health Center to Host CPR Anytime Training in Merrill
Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill will host a CPR Anytime Training Session on Wednesday, May 20, 2009.
The program will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. in the Menard Center on the Good Samaritan Campus. There is no charge for the program and is open to anyone interested in the community. Advanced registration is required by calling 715.539.5090.
Each CPR Anytime Kit contains a training DVD and a manikin, which inflates to practice ventilation and compression techniques that are part of performing CPR.
“The person who receives the CPR Anytime kit can continue to review and practice those techniques at home as well as share their kits with family members,” said Sharon Karow, CPR instructor at Good Samaritan Health Center. “This training will allow participants to receive both adult and infant manikins which allow them to be able to do CPR on any aged individual who requires it.”
In addition, information will also be provided on how to deal with choking in adults and infants.
Funding for the CPR Anytime program is possible as the result of a grant from the American Heart Association and is the result of an allocation from American Family Insurance’s Charity Cap Campaign conducted with the Green Bay Packers. Packers fans from throughout the world purchased red caps benefiting heart research, education and other support programs.
