February 13, 2009
The time-tested tools of yoga can be effective in improving posture and relieve back, neck and shoulder tension as well as pain.
These tools will be further explained on Saturday, March 7 from 9 a.m. – Noon when Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill offers a special therapeutic yoga workshop focusing on the upper back, neck and shoulders. Cost of the one-day workshop is $25 and will be held in the Menard Center 2nd Floor.
Participants in this Therapeutic Yoga Workshop will walk away with a roadmap for understanding the upper back, neck and shoulders along with yoga practice designed to relieve tension and promote stability along with flexibility.
Mary Hilliker of River Flow Yoga will facilitate the workshop. She has been a student of yoga for 17 years and a teacher for 9 years. Hilliker has completed advanced teacher training and structural yoga therapy training with Gary Kraftsow and the faculty of the American Viniyoga Institute.
“My goal is to help students find yoga practices that are practical for their everyday life and individual needs,” said Hilliker who teaches weekly classes and regular workshops in Wausau.
The workshop will include postures (asanas), guided relaxation, lecture, and time for questions and answers. Participants are asked to pre-pay and register by March 5. For more information contact Good Samaritan Health Center at 715.539.2466.
