Merrill Fire Department Donation Supports Cancer Patients at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center
Each October, Merrill Firefighters and Paramedics wear pink uniform shirts to raise awareness to cancer related deaths and illnesses in the Merrill community.
The department sold the special edition shirts with their Fire-EMS-Rescue insignia on it with all proceeds donated to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center in support of Oncology Services. Merrill Fire Department representatives recently presented hospital officials with a $250 donation from this year’s effort. Similar donations in the past have been used for educational materials and programs aimed at early prevention and detection of cancer and other support materials for those currently receiving treatment.
“We are grateful for the support of the Merrill Fire Department and their support of people who receive cancer services at our facility,” said Cheryl Jahns, director of Patient Care Services at Ministry Good Samaritan.
