Merrill Fire Department Provides $500 Donation to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center
During the week of October 9-15 2011, Merrill Firefighters and Paramedics wore pink uniform shirts to raise awareness to cancer related deaths and illnesses in the Merrill community.
As a part of this effort, the department sold the special edition shirts with their Fire-EMS-Rescue insignia on it with all proceeds donated to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center.
Department representatives recently presented hospital officials with a $500 donation from the effort. Donated in memory of Merrill firefighters who died of cancer, the funds will be used for patients and families dealing with cancer in the Merrill area.
“We are grateful for the support of the Merrill Fire Department and their support of people who receive cancer services at our facility,” said Anne Mathson, foundation director at Ministry Good Samaritan.
