Ministry Dialysis Center in Merrill Certified by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
Ministry Health Care is pleased to announce that the Dialysis Center located on the campus of Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill has received full certification from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
Construction of the six-station 2,800 square foot unit, located in the Menard Center was completed last October and utilizes radiology, laboratory and other support services from Good Samaritan Health Center.
“While we have been providing dialysis on a limited basis in Merrill for some time, this certification allows us to expand our services to all patients who desire access to this convenient location,” said Frank Gedney, administrator of Ministry Dialysis Services.
Gedney adds that enhanced patient treatments and staffing will begin on November 16 and will be increased over the next four to six weeks to provide six-day a week service.
The Merrill Dialysis center is the ninth location for Ministry Dialysis Services whose growing network provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care. It features a specially trained staff of registered nurse’s, social workers, dietitians and patient care technicians. The Merrill Dialysis Center will also include specialty care in kidney disease provided by Marshfield Clinic Nephrologists Pablo Abrego, M.D., and Stephen Blonsky, M.D.
“We appreciate the support of our patients and the community throughout this long process,” said Michael Hammer, president of Good Samaritan Health Center. “There is a definite need for dialysis services that will continue to grow in the coming years and we are pleased to offer this as a part of the services provided by Ministry Health Care in Merrill.”
