Ministry Good Samaritan Foundation Makes United Way Storm Match Donation
The Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center Foundation is making a $2,500 donation to the Merrill Area United Way Storm Match Fund.
The United Way Storm Match was created to provide short-term emergency assistance to people affected by the April 10 Tornado. This includes items like laundry, short-term lodging, clothing, household goods, foods and other emergency needs.
These short-term needs are met by United Way Funded programs like the St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Center, Salvation Army, Northcentral Community Action Program, Merrill Community Food Pantry and American Red Cross.
“We are proud to allocate this donation on behalf of the many generous supporters of the Ministry Good Samaritan Foundation,” said Foundation Chair Kathleen Graham. “While unfortunate, this event has shown the true power of our community to join together to make a difference for those affected by the storm.”
In addition, Graham adds that the Ministry Good Samaritan Foundation is in the planning stages of raising additional funds for Tornado Relief as a part of its 25th Annual Golf Outing to be held on Sunday July 31st at Merrill Golf Club.
The Foundation’s annual golf outing has long been a staple of the Merrill Community while raising funds to support community and Ministry Good Samaritan programs and services. “We think it’s the right thing to do to add something to one of our signature events to provide additional support to tornado relief efforts,” added Graham.
More information on the Ministry Good Samaritan Foundation Annual Golf Outing will be coming soon.
“We are grateful to the members of our Foundation for their continued support of our community,” said Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center President Kris McGarigle.
