Next Strong Women Program Offering at Ministry Good Samaritan Begins in April
Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center in cooperation with the Lincoln County UW-Extension Office is once again offering Strong Women, an eight-week exercise program specifically designed for middle-aged and older adults.
Strong Women is an evidence based strength and exercise program designed to increase muscle mass and strength, improve bone density and reduce risk for osteoporosis and related fractures. In addition, participants will also reduce the risk for diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression and obesity by living a more healthy and active lifestyle.
The next session of Strong Women classes in Merrill will begin in April and will be held in Menard Center on the Campus of Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center.
Afternoon sessions will run from 1-2 p.m. starting April 9th, and run each Monday and Thursday through May 31. The Evening session will start on April 10th, and run from 5:30-6:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday through May 31.
New participants are asked to participate in a required orientation program on Monday, April 2 at 5:30 p.m.
Cost for the program is $25 and advanced registration is requested by calling the Lincoln County UW-Extension Office at 715.539.1074. Additional support for Strong Women is provided by the Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center Foundation.
