Your medication is your responsibility.

Your medication is your responsibility.

Your health care provider has prescribed a medication and the pharmacist has filled it. Now, it is up to you to take the medication as prescribed.

Make sure you understand the directions.

Always double-check that you have the right medicine – especially if you take medication during the night.

Keep medicines in their original labeled containers.

  • Don’t skip a dose of medication or take half doses to save money.
  • Don’t stop taking the medication without talking to your health care provider.
  • Don’t mix medication and alcohol.
  • Don’t take someone else’s medication.

Talk to your health care provider if you cannot afford a certain prescription. Sometimes financial assistance is available for people who cannot afford their medication. Your health care provider may also know about a substitute drug that may work as well.

Call your doctor right away if you have any problems or worsening symptoms.
