Hospital offers massage services to community
The community is invited to make massage therapy appointments through the Ministry Rehabilitation Department at Howard Young Medical Center.
According to the 2009 American Massage Therapy Association consumer survey, an average of 22 percent of adult Americans received at least one massage between July 2008 and July 2009, and an average of 34 percent of adult Americans received a massage in the previous five years.
Massage therapy benefits include relaxation of muscle tissue, improved range of motion, reduced heart rate, lower blood pressure, reduced pain, and increased blood and lymphatic circulation.
Appointments are available by calling the Ministry Rehabilitation Department at 715-356-8870.
