Ashe Scholarship Applications Available
(WOODRUFF, Wis.) - Applications for the Dr. Henry Ashe Continuing Education Scholarships will be available on Friday, August 1, for Lakeland area college students who are pursuing a career in a healthcare field at the undergraduate level.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the number of qualified applications selected, and funds available for the program. Funds are provided by the Auxiliary of Howard Young Medical Center fundraisers and the Auxiliary Gift Shop, located inside Howard Young Medical Center.
In 2013, the Auxiliary provided $14,000 to seven college students pursuing a career in the healthcare field. In addition, two $1,000 scholarships were presented to two graduating seniors from Lakeland Union High School that plan on majoring in healthcare.
Scholarship applicants must be graduates of Lakeland Union High School. Eligibility requires that students currently be enrolled in programs leading to an associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare-related majors. Students must have completed one semester of college.
Students may obtain the Dr. Henry Ashe Continuing Education Scholarship application by writing to the Scholarship Committee, HYMC Auxiliary Center, P.O. Box 407, Woodruff, Wis., 54568-0470. An electronic form can be requested by contacting Kathy Viergutz via email at Kathy.firstname.lastname@example.org. All returned applications must be received by mail.
