Sheila Clough, President, Howard Young Health Care (HYHC), announced the appointment of Kurt D. Veldhuizen to Chair of the Board of Directors, and two new members at large, Brian Eliason and Lee Guenther.
Veldhuizen, Chair of the Board of Directors, is a First Vice President – Investments, Financial Advisor, and Associate Resident Director with Merrill Lynch. He has been in the wealth management business since 1989. He has been on the HYHC Board of Directors since 2005.
Veldhuizen is a professional member of the Association for Investment Management and Research. He has served on the Boards of Wiscraft Inc./Wisconsin Enterprises for the Blind, and the North Central Wisconsin Conservatory of the Arts, Inc. Veldhuizen has also served as President of the Lakeland Little League, and as Cub Master for Cub Scout Pack 530 of the Boy Scouts of America. He serves as Chair of the HYHC and Affiliates Board of Directors and is a member of the Finance and Investment Committee.
Eliason, member at large, is the Chief Executive Officer of Eliason Incorporated, a nation-wide commercial real estate investment firm. He has been with the firm since co-founding it with his brother, David, in 1999. In 2008, Eliason Inc. was named the second fastest growing private company and the fastest growing real estate company in the country by INC Magazine. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Real Estate Investment Securities Association (REISA), elected in 2007. Eliason has been instrumental in re-defining the focus of the association to include all forms of real estate securities, and has participated in lobbying efforts in Washington, DC, to advance the goals of the association.
Guenther, member at large, is the President and Chief Executive Officer for T.A. Solberg Co. Inc., parent company for Trig’s Food Stores in Minocqua, Eagle River, Rhinelander, Wausau, and Trig’s County Market in Stevens Point. He chairs the Board for Discover Media Works, a Madison based company that has the Discover Wisconsin T.V. series and serves as the Chairman of the Wisconsin Grocer’s Association. He is past President of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce and also served on the Minocqua Chamber Board for two years. He is also involved with Angel on My Shoulder, and received the Angel Award of Superior Accomplishment in 2005 for his contributions to their efforts.
