Howard Young Medical Center Health Fair a Success
(WOODRUFF, WI) – Over 125 people attended the second annual Howard Young Medical Center (HYMC) Health Fair on Thursday, August 15. Hospital associates, Ministry Medical Group (MMG) Woodruff providers and Marshfield Clinic personnel provided over 350 free screenings, including: non-fasting cholesterol testing, glucose screening, blood pressure checks, body mass index (BMI) screenings, skin cancer screening, stress management screening, memory testing, vision screening, and cardiac risk assessments.
“It’s an honor to provide this service for members of our community,” said Ministry Medical Group Woodruff, Nurse Practitioner Amy Lavin. “The results of the screenings were available immediately and provided vital information to the client regarding whether they’re on the right track, or if they need to make minor, or major, lifestyle changes to maintain optimal health and well being.”
Ministry Medical Group also celebrated its Patient Centered Medical Home recognition. Associates from the clinic in Woodruff provided free screenings and tours for health fair visitors.
In addition to the free screenings and other healthcare booths, Spirit Air 2 personnel were on hand to answer questions about the proposed hangar at HYMC.
The third anniversary of the health fair is scheduled for August 2014.
