Ministry Medical Group in Weston is currently seeking a BC/BE family medicine physician to join our growing practice. The position would be split between the Ministry Medical Group Rib Mountain and Ministry Medical Group Weston locations.

  • Outpatient only practice - medpeds candidate would be accepted
  • Full-time position: 4 and 1/2 days per week
  • No night call, no holiday call, no weekend call - after hours responsibility is phone call only

The clinic is adjacent to the new Ministry Saint Clare's Hospital, built in 2005. The hospital has a completely paperless charting process with all patient data instantly updated in an electronic medical records system. The hospital provides a broad range of general and advanced health care services. It is a surgical center for the Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Health Care heart care team and other nationally renowned programs.


 

 

Wausau, with a population of 40,000 (Wausau "Metro Area" population 80,000), is located in Central Wisconsin between two major highways: Interstate 39/ Highway 51 (north and south) and Highway 29 (east and west).

Wausau lies within Marathon county which has a population of 126,000 and covers 1,584 square miles (one-third of the county's land is forested). Wausau and Marathon Counties offer ideal recreation opportunities year round. In the winter months enjoy Granite Peak facility with an elevation of 1,941 feet. This facility offers three chair lifts, a large open slope and 12 runs designed for skiers with varied skill levels. Otherwise try cross –country skiing on a total of 48 miles of trails. In the summer months take pleasure in any of the 51 parks, totaling almost 3,500 acres. These parks include miles of lakes and streams as well as swimming beaches, boat landings, picnic areas, hiking trails, playgrounds, shelters, camping areas, shooting ranges and two indoor ice arenas.

Wausau is also know as "Arts Town USA" due to its commitment to the performing arts. Some notable sites are: Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Grand Theatre (seating 1,200 offering live touring productions from dance to drama), 16 movie theaters, 10 public libraries, 8 private and public golf courses, State Park Speedway, YMCA and YWCA. Major annual events consist of: Badger State Winter Games, Great Wisconsin River LogJam, Blue's Fest, Wisconsin Valley Fair, Kayak and Canoe Competitions and Artageous Weekend.

Wausau is the home of Northcentral Technical College and the University of Wisconsin-Marathon County. NTC offers 35 one and two programs in business, technical, health and industrial fields. Two unique NTC programs – laser technician and educational interpreter technician-have been cited as national models. UWMC offers a complete range of freshman/sophomore level courses leading to a baccalaureate degree. The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is only 35 miles south and offers associate and baccalaureate degree level and selected graduate programs.
