A mom stands in front of a cabin overlooking a beautiful lake as she watches her son play. The water is calm and she can’t wait to take her family out in the boat. This woman’s name is Maureen, and she is the proud mother of a healthy 2 ½ year-old boy.
Maureen recalls her first pregnancy, stating that the day she went into labor, she began feeling contractions around midnight and went to Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston around 4 a.m. Being her first child, she was very nervous about what the experience would be like, but she says the Ministry staff went out of their way to reassure her and keep her informed. She remembers them helping her get comfortable by walking, sitting in the tub, and using the birthing ball. She was also impressed with her experience following the birth, saying that the staff made her feel extremely informed, yet gave her plenty of space to bond with her new baby.
And now, as she takes in her beautiful natural surroundings with her family, she looks back to the day her family grew by one. She is grateful for the expertise of her Ministry doctors and nurses, and even more grateful to add another smiling face to her family vacations.
