A mother stands in the bleachers watching her sons out on the field. She beams with pride as she watches one of them score. They’ve come a long way, and she treasures every one of these moments. This woman’s name is Kara and she delivered triplet boys 10 years ago.
In 2004, Kara Jeske headed to Ministry Saint Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Marshfield, 34 weeks pregnant with triplets. Kara felt at ease in the hands of the OBs delivering the babies. She had whole team of NICU doctors and nurses by her side, ready to provide immediate care for each one of the triplets.
As a high-risk pregnancy, Kara toured the NICU at 26 weeks and met the NICU nurses and staff about what to expect. She was very impressed with the care in the NICU, as each of the boys had a separate team taking care of them individually. All three boys spent a week in the NICU before heading home as healthy newborns
Today Andrew, Brent, and Derek are healthy 10-year-old boys who love wrestling, football, and baseball and Kara can always be found in the bleachers cheering them on. It’s been a long time since those days in the NICU, but each moment she gets to see them do what they love brings back memories of the staff at Ministry. And that’s one team she’ll never forget.
