Calvin Selwyn, Jr., MD, Surgeon & Bariatric Medical Director
Dr. Selwyn is a board certified and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is an extensively trained bariatric surgeon having performed over 900 weight loss surgeries. Dr. Selwyn has been a Bariatric surgeon, practicing in Stevens Point since 2006. Prior to that he was Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Cincinnati. He underwent fellowship training specifically for all forms of bariatric surgery and advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. In addition, he has published papers concerning bariatrics and presented to the national meeting of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and holds an active membership with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Selwyn is proficient in laparoscopic surgery and utilizes it to perform surgery. He has advanced to perform Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) (insert video) for Laparoscopic Adjustable Band and Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy. This unique surgery involves completion of your operation laparoscopically through one small incision through belly button thus shortening recovery time and reducing scar visibility.
