Inpatient Mental Health Unit

The Ministry Behavioral Health Inpatient Mental Health Unit at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point offers comprehensive mental health, psychiatric, and detoxification services in an inpatient hospital setting. Inpatient treatment is a holistic, patient-focused, short term treatment in a safe environment to achieve stability of symptoms.

A multi-disciplinary assessment in conducted initially to formulate an individual treatment plan based on patient needs and strengths. The general length of stay is three to five days. Inpatient treatment may include:

  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Psychological consultation
  • Individual counseling
  • Social Work Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Spiritual Services
  • Medication
  • Group Therapy
  • Education
  • Family Therapy
  • Scheduled individualized activities
  • Discharge planning
  • Collaboration with family, Social Worker, Therapist, Physicians, etc.
  • Smoking cessation support and supplements

Residential Treatment Center

Ministry Behavioral Health Residential Treatment Center offers comprehensive drug or alcohol dependency treatment in a residential setting.

Our accredited and caring staff members are on-site 24 hours a day and include a Board Certified Addictionologist, Psychiatrist and Certified AODA Counselors.

The program includes:

  • Individual counseling
  • Group therapy
  • Education
  • Family therapy
  • Scheduled recreational activities
  • Introduction to Twelve Step philosophy
  • Access to external programs such as Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, church and other support services
  • Discharge planning
  • Collaboration with family and social worker
  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Smoking cessation support and supplements

Daily Program

Wakeup – Noon:

  • Breakfast

  • Personal time/chores

  • Group therapy
  • Lunch

1 p.m. - 5 p.m.:

  • Individual counseling
  • Personal time
  • Dinner

6 p.m. – Bedtime:

  • Free to attend community meetings
  • Medications
  • House AA meeting

  • Free to attend church

  • Clothing and shoes (jeans, shorts, socks, *swimsuit, etc.)
  • Personal hygiene items including toothbrush and tooth paste, shampoo, deodorant, etc.
  • 30 day supply of medications with a signed doctor’s order if prescribed any medications
  • *Contacts/glasses
  • *Pillow
  • *Phone card
  • *Books, magazines, coloring utensils
  • *Cigarettes and soda are allowed

Payment

Our staff can assist with commercial insurance verification prior to admission and provide billing to all third-party payers. Payment plans and financial counseling are available and county funding and credit cards are accepted. We also accept referrals from the Employee Assistance Program.
