Summer will quickly come to an end, but our grief does not stop. If only it could! Summer over with, no more Grief! Wouldn’t that be wonderful? We know from experience that isn’t how Grief works. Memories go on forever in the Hearts of people who love! Sadness lasts a long time. We do know that you can get over being sad when your baby dies. Your child is not forgotten, you just know you have to go on with your own life and the life of your family, so you can set your grief aside for a more appropriate time. When the grief surfaces again, you might be a much stronger person and able to cope a lot better. (We still do not have any one to do Group, so I hope the Newsletter is a help to you in healing your heart from your loss.) Lucy

The following is a Mother’s pray of affirmation after her loss--- by Stacy Dinner-Levin
-“In this time of loss I call upon my spirit within to guide me to my strength so that I may find peace and completion.”
-I will use this strength to demand of myself and others, my need to grieve completely, for this will be my first step in healing.
-During my time of grief, I will seek guidance not only from my inner spirit, but from loving persons who may offer wisdom and comfort.
-I need to understand that the soul as well as the physical body needs healing and to pay attention to this. I will learn to accept that the soul may never heal completely.
-I will learn to live not in fear and once again see beauty in my world and purpose in my existence.
-In spite of my new knowledge that things happen that cannot be controlled. I must call upon the places within me that tell me I do have control over much of my life and use this control to aid my healing.
-Let me recognize the gift in my ability to conceive and carry life, however, briefly.
-Let me take joy in my ability to love so deeply and desire to nurture a soul unbeknownst to me.
-Let me honor this short life not only with my love, but in finding meaning in its existence.
-Let me recognize this meaning in not only my ability to survive, but in my fullest appreciation of all the moments motherhood will bring me, along with my deeper compassion and sisterhood to other woman who experienced loss.
-Let a part of this soul be reflected in the spirit of my future children, born or adopted, so that I may know it through them.
-I will listen to and trust the place in my deepest heart that tells me I will once again be reunited with this soul and will fulfill the need to hold him or her in my arms.
-I will help myself to feel comfort in the knowledge that there is a star in heaven that belongs to me.

Written in loving memory of Jay and Edwin
by their Aunt Wendy

Lord,
What does it sound like
To hear them laugh,
And who do they look like
When they smile?
Right from the start
They shared a brotherly love,
For when one lead
The other followed,
And they both came running
To your arms of love.
Please tell them that
We love them, Lord!
Please tell them that
Though they were in our hands
For such a very short time,
They will be in our hearts forever,
And that one day
We will meet them again and
Enjoy the sound of their laughter,
And know who they look like
When they smile.

A Mother’s Love by Paula Graven

A mother’s love is something that starts
Right from conception
You form a bond with your baby full of
Love and deep affection
Before you even know it you’ve planned
Their entire future
It may be a little optimistic but it’s only
Mother nature
But then one day you’re told the news you
Never want to hear---So now your future life,
Has been tragically torn apart
To be replaced by grief, and a pain that
Fills your heart
You’ll often sit and wonder what it was
That you did wrong
To be denied the life of the child you’d
Carried for so long
All those medical words race round your
Head again
But the out-come of it was, if he lived he’d
Suffer pain
And so you decided that you had to let him
Go
You did what was best for him because you
Really love him so
Even though he’s gone and you’re no
Longer a mother to be
Just remember it was your love that
Helped to set him free
