Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital and The American Cancer Society (ACS) support the Patient Navigator Program to assist patients in overcoming barriers they may encounter during their cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Trained Cancer Information Specialists are available to assist patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If patients are calling during business hours, they should ask to speak directly to our local Navigator, Trish Larson, MSSW.
Trish Larson and other Navigators help cancer patients improve their quality of life, maintain a positive attitude during treatment, and learn effective communication with health professionals. Navigators can act as a cancer profiler and create cancer coping strategies for the individual and family members. Extensive cancer information provided by a Navigator can empower patients to make better, more informed treatment and quality of life decisions.

The American Cancer Society also offers services to reduce barriers to treatment through its transportation and pain management education programs.
