Meet Our Pediatricians

Valerie Hay, MD

Valerie Hay, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician, caring for children from birth to early adulthood. She specializes in diseases and ailments specific to young and growing bodies. Valerie has a special interest in pediatric mental health issues, including ADHD and depression. Valerie received her medical degree from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She also completed her residency at Southern Illinois University. When she’s not taking care of patients, Dr. Hay enjoys watching sports and is a hockey, basketball and baseball fan. She likes to walk, jog and play sports with her son.

Maria Bravo, DO

Maria Bravo, DO, is a pediatrician who cares for children and  specializes in diseases and ailments specific to young and growing bodies and can manage the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of children in every stage of development. Maria can perform many types of procedures from sutures to bladder catheterizations. She has a special interest in preventive care, treating patients with asthma, and working with newborns and their families.

Maria received her medical degree from A.T. Still University – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, MO. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee, FL. Her undergraduate degree is from UW-Madison. She is certified in advanced cardiovascular life support, pediatric advanced life support, and neonatal resuscitation.

“As a doctor, I know how important good communication is. In addition to English, I speak fluent Spanish, which allows me to connect better with a wider variety of patients, and to help them achieve positive outcomes.” said Maria.

James A. Kasukonis, DO, FAAP

Dr. Kasukonis is a board certified pediatrician with over 15 years of experience and serves on numerous hospital committees. Dr. Kasukonis received his medical degree and teacher's certification from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and completed his pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital Medical Center in Akron, Ohio. He spends his spare time volunteering for Saint Michael's Foundation Fund, Newman Parish, and Camp HOPE as a medical director.

Ronald Locascio, MD

Dr. Locascio is a pediatrician who sees children, adolescents, and young adults (birth through 21 years of age). Dr. Locascio received his medical degree from the Universidad Central del Este in San Pedro de Macoris and completed his residency at Gunderson Lutheran Hospital in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Dr. Locascio enjoys spending time with his family and is actively involved in Tae Kwon Do as a fifth-degree black belt master instructor. He participates in pediatric-related television shows, oral presentations, newspaper articles, and enjoys a wide variety of outdoor sports.

Ralph Locher, MD, FAAP

Dr. Locher is a board certified pediatrician with over 18 years of practice experience. He enjoys working together with patients and their families, encouraging healthy behaviors and disease prevention. Dr. Locher received his medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia, and completed his residency at Marshfield Clinic and Saint Joseph's Hospital.
