Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital offers an advanced Emergency Department including two trauma rooms and three general purpose examination rooms with the flexibility to do specialized exams, suturing and casting. The ER is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by fully trained physicians. It is serviced by a paramedic level ambulance team, the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care. Paramedic coverage is particularly important in rural areas where transport time to hospital emergency care is extended. A drive-through ambulance garage promotes comfortable, accessible patient transfers. Emergency air transport is available from a new helipad located at the Eagle River Airport, approximately one mile away.
Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital has a long history of being intimately involved in emergency medical services in the State of Wisconsin. In the mid 1970’s, Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital was one of the first hospitals to have a totally hospital-based ambulance service.
