From the moment a heart attack begins, the clock starts ticking. If advanced care is received quickly, the most serious risks of permanent heart damage can be avoided. That’s why the Marshfield Clinic and Ministry Health Care heart care team has developed Rescue1, a groundbreaking program that unites the efforts of local EMTs, Spirit Medical Transportation Services, and community hospitals to rapidly transfer patients to advanced care centers at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield and Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
Once the Rescue1 patient arrives at one of our advanced care centers, a cardiology team begins immediate diagnosis and treatment. Time is of the essence, as studies have shown that it is in the best interest of the patient to open the blocked artery as quickly as possible.
