John and I were ready to start a family and after a year of trying to achieve pregnancy with no luck we were introduced to the Creighton Model FertilityCare™ System, a natural method for us to better understand my menstrual and fertility cycles.
I met with Annette Firkus, fertility care nurse at Ministry Medical Group in Plover, to discuss my options. I was leery of taking medications to help me induce pregnancy. Annette outlined the program, explained the charting process and we both agreed the Creighton Model would be a good way to go.
My husband and mine’s goal were to try to accomplish our pregnancy as naturally as possible. Annette sat down with us about a month or two before we met with the doctor to teach us the Creighton Model. This gave us a couple of cycles to see what my body is doing and bring back information to the doctor.
The whole Creighton Model process was simple to learn and easy to understand how the process works. The Creighton Model charting uses different colored stamps to chart with (red, white and green) to signify a woman's fertile/infertile time. It was useful to see when I was most fertile; I could glance at the chart and just know.
It took us about 6 months to conceive, which seemed pretty quick once we figured out what was going on and how to master the charting process. I was pleasantly surprised and now we are happy parents to two beautiful little girls.
Creighton Model of FertilityCare™ has taught me a lot about my body. I would recommend it to any woman. It isn’t just about getting pregnant it is learning about how your body works.
