Reflecting the Scope and Mission of Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital-Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, the Stroke Rehabilitation Program provides services that focus on prevention of stroke, on minimizing impairment, on reducing activity limitations, and on maximizing the participation and quality of life of persons who have sustained a stroke.
The Rehabilitation Unit recognizes the importance of ongoing medical management and the individuality, strengths, and needs of the persons served and their families/support systems. The goal is to provide ongoing access to medical services and information about services and resources available to enhance the lives of the persons served within their families/support systems, communities, and life roles.
The Stroke Rehabilitation Program at Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital will assist the persons served and their families/support systems to accept responsibility for management of their own health, encourage their appropriate use of healthcare systems and services, and support their efforts to gain or maintain their health and improve their quality of life, throughout their lifespan.
