This weekend kicks off the third annual Community Weight Race. Our kick off event on January 9 from 10 am – 2 pm includes a full list of screenings and benchmarking to help you establish a starting point. From there we’ll work with you to help track your progress. Also this is your last chance to register and weigh-in.
Then on Tuesday, January 12 at 6 pm our weekly presentations begin. Up first is Dr. Marcus Haemmerle an Orthopedic Surgeon with Ministry Medical Group in Stevens Point. His topic; Making It to the Starting Line: Preventing Injuries. Dr. Haemmerle will touch on how to avoid exercise related injuries, proper stretching techniques and recognizing the warning signs of overuse and complications that can occur. There will also be time to get answers to your questions.

All presentations take place each Tuesday at 2501 Main Street, Oak Room. Doors open at 5:30 pm, presentation starts at 6 pm and lasts approximately one hour. And just like last year we’ll have stations set up for your weekly weigh-in. Remember to bring in non-perishable food each presentation night.
