Bye WeekUpdate:

Thank you to all who came to the workout session that was put on last night by Traci Smet. It truly was a fun and worthwhile time! Our participants benefited from using resistance bands to exercise and actually got to keep the bands for their personal use. For those of you who attended and were wondering about the exercises we did, Traci will be providing print outs of each exercise so you can do this workout on your own. Thanks again to everyone who came out and burned some calories along side fellow Community Weight Race participants!

Preview for Next Week: Is Exercise Hard for You?

Next week Traci Smet will be back presenting on a very worthwhile topic. The title of her talk is Exercise Made Easy, and she will be talking about just that. We all have excuses as to why we don’t stick to a work out plan or why we don’t exercise at all. Well, Traci will be talking about those excuses and she has many solutions that you are going to want to hear. Please come next week to hear Traci’s presentation and we promise you will walk away with many great ideas to make exercise simple and easy for you!

Food Collected:

At our workout session last night we collected 14.4 lbs of food. Combined with previous totals of 727.6 we have collected over 742 lbs of canned goods! We only have two weeks left to collect food, wouldn’t it be great to break the 1000 lbs mark. Again thank you to everyone who has contributed, please keep donating your extra canned goods we don’t have much time left!

Reminders: Please read these!

There are only two more weeks left of the 3rd annual Community Weight Race!!!

  • Our final Tuesday night presentation will be Tuesday, April 6th at 2501 Main building, if you have not attended a presentation yet this one is sure to be a great time. Participants who bring in canned goods to the Tuesday presentation will be receiving an extra ballot for them to put their name on to win prizes at the end of the meeting.
  • FINAL WEIGH IN TIMES Final weigh ins will be taking place Monday through Thursday from 4-7 pm except on Tuesday it will be from 4-6 pm. These weigh ins will take place at the 2501 Main building each night. A weigh in will also be available after the Tuesday night presentation at 7pm.
  • On Saturday April 10th from 10 am - 1 pm we will be holding our health screening and awards ceremony at 2501 Main. The awards ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. We have more people helping out with our final event so weigh ins and your health screenings will be run very efficiently.
  • Please bring your canned goods to the Tuesday presentation and final weigh ins!!! We are asking just one more time for you to show your generosity by donating your extra canned goods! It is going to local food pantries that have been extremely grateful throughout the Weight Race, so please don’t forget to bring your items!
