Christmas Tea Open to Everyone

Everyone is invited to Ministry Home Care’s free Christmas Tea at the lovely Alexander House in Port Edwards on Saturday, December 12, 1-5pm. Tea and holiday cookies will be served by the hospice team among the beautifully-decorated historic home. Quilts made by the hospice team and volunteers will be on displayed, and the Holiday Raffle drawing will be held at 4:30pm. Some lucky winners will take those quilts home with them, as well as the other raffle prizes.

Nutcracker Sweets to be held December 8

This is not your average bake sale! Nutcracker Sweets, the annual hospice bake sale and raffle is just around the corner. The delightful creations donated by local bakers are wrapped and presented in beautiful packaging, ready to give as gifts. The sale will be held Tuesday, December 8, 7am-2pm at Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Conference Room G (near the cafeteria). Everyone is invited to stop to get in the holiday spirit! Many creatively displayed gift items, raffle tickets and cookbooks will be available for sale. Plan to arrive early for the best selection. All proceeds will benefit patients and families served by Ministry Home Care-Hospice.

Celebrate the Holidays with Hospice

Ministry Home Care - Hospice is holding several holiday events in the Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids area. A Holiday Raffle featuring handmade quilts and $1,000 cash, the annual Nutcracker Sweets bake sale and a new Christmas Tea are among the offerings.

Tree of Love Celebrations in Northwoods

For more than two decades, Dr. Kate Hospice has joined with the community to welcome the holidays with an evening of warm memories, fellowship and sharing at the beautiful Tree of Love ceremony. Last year, their partner hospice program in Rhinelander, Ministry Home Care, began a similar tradition.These gatherings are a way to recognize the pain that exists in the hearts of many after a death, and to celebrate the memories that last. The lovely trees will remain lit throughout the holidays, as a reminder that those who have lived have left a lasting impression. Everyone is invited to both of these very special events.

Hospice...It's Everybody's Business

As part of their National Hospice Month celebration, Ministry Home Care has partnered with many Stevens Point area restaurants to raise funds that will help provide care to terminally ill individuals who are under-insured or uninsured. “Because hospice provides care to people of all ages, with all diagnoses, wherever they call home, it really is everybody’s business,” stated Dianne Harrington, director of hospice services for Ministry Home Care.

Annual Tree Lighting & Hospice Walk

Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services will commemorate national hospice month by hosting their annual Tree Lighting at House of the Dove, 613 Western in Marshfield on Monday, November 16 at 6:30pm. Hundreds of lights will shine through the holiday season in honor of the individuals served by Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services. The public is invited to this free event, which will include a short service and refreshments afterward.

Holiday Service of Remembrance to be Held in Marshfield

The annual Holiday Service of Remembrance will be held Sunday, December 6, 2009 at 3pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 200 South Lincoln Avenue in Marshfield. This wonderful annual event is free and open to everyone in the community.

Gift of Hospice Raises More than $40,000 for Local Care

Ministry Home Care – Hospice held their 6th annual Gift of Hospice events in Wisconsin Rapids and Marshfield, bringing in donations of more than $40,000.00 for local services provided by the non-profit organization. The annual celebration raises awareness of end-of-life care and donations to fund hospice care for individuals who are under-insured or uninsured – people Ministry will not turn away. This year’s events were held at the Hotel Mead in Wisconsin Rapids on November 4, 2009, and at the Holiday Inn in Marshfield the following evening.

Lifeline Volunteers Needed in Portage County

Volunteering for Lifeline is a great opportunity to make personal connections with individuals, helping them to retain their independence.
