AVN Hospice Volunteers Needed
Affinity Visiting Nurses is in need of volunteers to assist our hospice team. Volunteers do everything from spending time with patients, to working on special projects, to clerical work, to fund raising projects, to making calls to family members of patients who have died.
Our volunteers are one of our most valuable assets! Volunteers come from all walks of life, live in locations all over the area from Fond du Lac to DePere, and from Waushara County to Calumet County. Volunteering is a rewarding experience that allows you to become a crucial part of our team! A typical volunteer schedule might be to work once a week from two to four hours.
Right now, Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice is looking for volunteers to share their time and talents with patients. Volunteers provide companionship, conversation, support for the patient and the family helping with a life story, or putting together a scrapbook of memoires for the family.
Volunteers willing to do office duties are also needed. Most Hospice office volunteers work about twice a month for a few hours each time. Clerical work can include any of the following: filing, typing, folding, assembling binders or charts, or collating. Volunteers can provide help through a variety of skills and support the hospice program through a variety of options.
Volunteers are required to complete training for any of the above opportunities. Training is provided prior to the start of volunteering.
