Ministry Home Care – Hospice, including Dr. Kate Hospice, held its Gift of Hospice events last month in locations around the Northwoods, raising nearly $50,000.00 for the non-profit organization. The celebration raises awareness of end-of-life care and money to fund hospice care for individuals who are under-insured or uninsured – people Ministry will not turn away.
Each unique event featured heartfelt testimonials from local individuals who’ve benefited from hospice services, and live performances by Grammy-nominee Karen Taylor-Good. During the week of September 14th, 500 guests attended events in Minocqua, Rhinelander and Eagle River, learning more about the hospice mission and gaining a better understanding of how this specialized team can help those important to them.
Guests left the events as new or renewed ambassadors for hospice. Many were ready to help others access hospice care when they need it, encourage those who are grieving to utilize the grief support Ministry provides, and work with local organizations and businesses to do fundraisers on behalf of hospice.
