Hospice…It’s Everybody’s Business in Wausau
Eat out and support local hospice patients
Throughout the month of November, Ministry Home Care Hospice is teaming up with Wausau area restaurants to increase awareness of hospice services. Visit a partnering business on their designated day, and they will donate a portion of your sale to hospice.
“Hospice provides end-of-life care to people throughout our area – people of all ages and all diagnoses who have a limited time to live,” stated Liz Sheahan, Manager, Communications & Development with Ministry Home Care. “Everyone needs to know about hospice and the depth of support it provides to the patient and their loved ones. It really is everybody’s business.”
While Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance companies provide some funding for hospice care, many who need hospice services have insurance that does not fully cover the costs involved, or no insurance or ability to pay. As part of their mission, Ministry Home Care provides this important care to anyone who is medically eligible, regardless of their ability to pay. Ministry relies on donations and fundraising to help them meet the needs of those patients.
