Tree of Love Celebrations in Northwoods

For more than two decades, Dr. Kate Hospice has joined with the community to welcome the holidays with an evening of warm memories, fellowship and sharing at the beautiful Tree of Love ceremony. Five years ago, their partner hospice program in Rhinelander, Ministry Home Care, began a similar tradition.

These gatherings are a way to recognize the pain that exists in the hearts of many after a death, and to celebrate the memories that last. The lovely trees will remain lit throughout the holidays, as a reminder that those who have lived have left a lasting impression. Everyone is invited to both of these very special events.

In Rhinelander, the Fifth Annual Tree of Love ceremony will be held on Monday, December 3rd, 5pm at Ministry Saint Mary’s Hospital with special music and homemade refreshments. Everyone is invited to this special ceremony. Memorial donations may be made to have a loved one’s name on a special ribbon on the tree and to be recognized at the ceremony. A donation of $10 per name may be sent to the Ministry Home Care office, 1864 N. Stevens Street, Rhinelander, WI 54501. Names received by November 27 will be included in the ceremony.

For more information, please call 715-361-2230.

In Woodruff, the 24th Annual Dr. Kate Hospice Tree of Love ceremony will be held Tuesday, December 4 at 7pm. The tree will be dedicated at a special memorial celebration outside the Ministry Medical Group Clinic on the north side of the Howard Young Medical Center. Music will be provided by the Lakeland Area Barbershop Chorus. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be served and everyone is invited to join together for conversation and fellowship in the lobby.

Memorial donations are $10 for each light to be lit on the tree—requests must be received no later than November 23 to be included in the program. To place your memorials, contact Randi Danner at Dr. Kate Hospice, 715-356-8805 or 1-800-234-3542.

No registration is required to attend either of these free tree lighting ceremonies—everyone is encouraged to join in the fellowship.
