Ministry Medical Group Tomahawk Supports the Strong Women Campaign
(TOMAHAWK, WI) – Ministry Medical Group recently contributed pedometers to the Strong Women program in Tomahawk. Pedometers track how many steps a person takes. Strong Women is a twelve week exercise program specifically designed for middle-aged and older adults.
Strong Women is an evidence based strength and exercise program designed to increase muscle mass and strength, improve bone density and reduce risk for osteoporosis and related fractures. In addition, participants will also reduce the risk for diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression and obesity by living a more healthy and active lifestyle.
Bonnie Rudie is one of two certified trainers who lead the class each week. “The Tomahawk community has really embraced the Strong Women program,” she said. “The ladies have seen tremendous results in a short period of time and it’s an honor to witness their transformation.”
“We’d like to thank Ministry Medical Group in Tomahawk for providing the pedometers for our participants,” added Certified Trainer Toni Rawlins. “Long after the ladies complete our program, they can use the pedometers to track their steps throughout their training.”
The sessions began in February and run each Monday and Thursday at United Methodist Church in Tomahawk. A fall program consisting of 10 weeks will soon be accepting registrations.
