As many area residents know, Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital has an extensive and innovative rehabilitation services department. They frequently share their expertise with other professionals, and this month will be hosting a professional conference on kinesio taping, a technique that involves taping over and around muscles in order to provide support, aid in muscle rehab, reduce pain, and decrease swelling. The conference is September 14 and 15 and will be held at the hospital.
Kinesio tape was everywhere at this summer’s Olympic games – it’s brightly colored and often applied in interesting patterns. CNN called kinesio tape “the latest Olympic accessory.”
MOLVH’s director of rehabilitation services, Steve Seiberling, DPT, helped organize the conference. He said, “This course is being offered to a variety of licensed professionals, including physical and occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and other medical practitioners. We expect more than 27 professionals to join us for this conference. They’re coming from all over the central, northern, and western Wisconsin.
