Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital Announces Change in Board Chair
Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital is pleased to announce Dave Shewczyk as the new Chairman of the board of directors. Shewczyk has served on the board since 2006 and has been serving as Vice-Chairman. He replaces Steven Anderson, who needed to step down from the Chairman role after being elected Rusk County Circuit Court judge. Anderson will continue to serve as a board member.
Shewczyk has lived in the OLVH service area all his life. He was born and raised in Gilman, where he also worked as a teacher and principal for both the Gilman and Thorp School Districts. In 1974 he changed careers and went to work for Mid-State Insurance Agency. He later purchased the agency and continues its operation today. He has been on and has chaired many city committees such as the Zoning, Parks & Recreation, Tree Board and the City Board of Appeals. Currently he serves as supervisor for the town of Roosevelt. He had been a member of the Thorp Lions Club for more than 35 years. He was on the parish council of St. Bernard's - St. Hedwig's and had been the fundraising chairman for the Thorp Catholic School for many years.
He is now a member of the St. Stanislaus Parish in Lublin where he now resides. He was an EMT for 22 years and Assistant Fire Chief for 23 years.
Shewczyk enjoys hunting, fishing, golf and gardening. He and his wife, Barbara, also enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren.
