Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital Helping Hands Committee Publishes New Cookbook

The OLVH Helping Hands Committee was formed in 2002. This employee group conducts fundraisers throughout the year. The money raised is used to help employees and their families that have suffered a personal, financial or social tragedy that has hurt them financially.

According to Helping Hands Committee Member Kerry Papierniak, “One of our initial fundraisers was an employee cookbook which we put together and sold in early 2003. This was a huge success and helped us get our funding off the ground. We decided since it had been 7 years since we did our last cookbook, that it was time for a new one.”

The group asked employees to submit their recipes and, as an incentive, any employee that submitted a recipe would have their name put in for a drawing for one of the 5 free cookbooks.

Kerry said, “We had great participation, ending up with 324 recipes which are nicely separated into the categories of Appetizers and Beverages; Soups and Salads; Vegetables; Main Dishes; Breads and Rolls; Desserts; and Miscellaneous.”

The books have laminated front and back covers and are $8 each. Cookbooks are available at the Ministry Our Lady of Victory Hospital front desk, emergency registration area and from any Helping Hands committee member. Committee members are:

  • Lori Begley
  • Jenny Duellman
  • Jody Hendrickson
  • Deanna Lee
  • Cindy Lindgren
