Fitness testing starts at 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 21. This quick 10-minute appointment will test body fat, strength, and flexibility. Sign-up at final weigh-ins or contact Traci at 715.346.5416.
Awards ceremony will take place Thursday, April 19 at UWSP, Noelle Fine Arts Center, Room 221. (Click to view Map) We will have a multitude of booths from the community with healthy tips, ideas, and services. Doors open at 5 p.m. Awards start at 6 p.m. and should conclude around 7 p.m.

Presentation Review: Healthy Forever
This week there was another panel of experts and a short presentation on being Healthy Forever. The presentation focused on how important it is to stay healthy beyond the end of the competition. The positive changes you have made during the Ministry Community Weight Race can continue into the rest of your life. The participants had a great opportunity to ask the experts all kinds of questions. The experts included Dr. Brad Johnson, Dr. Annie Wetter, Dave Candra, and Beth Hanna. One participant wondered if hitting a plateau means you should stay there. We are genetically predisposed to be at a certain weight, but we also live in a different world than our ancestors and it can be hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle. When starting a workout routine be sure to start slow and ease your way into it. When it comes to fluids just drink when you are thirsty and when you workout and you should be fine. You can get plenty of electrolytes from your balanced dinner. Remember, nobody’s perfect, so do not try to be. Just try to be better than the day before and cut yourself some slack.
