MARATHON COUNTY HEALTH PARTNERSHIP OFFERS FUNDING TO ADDRESS HEALTH ISSUES

A consortium of Marathon County funding organizations has about $80,000 in grants available to organizations who will address health issues in Marathon County.

The money specifically must be used to fund projects that work on priorities identified by the 2006-2010 Marathon County Community Health Assessment.

Those priorities include alcohol use and misuse, concerns with the costs of health care and tobacco use and exposure.

Funding organizations include the Judd S. Alexander Foundation, Aspirus Health Foundation, Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, Marshfield Clinic, and The Foundation of Saint Clare’s Hospital.

Information on the request for proposal process is available at the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, 500 First St., Suite 2600, Wausau, WI 54403, or call 845-9555. In order to be considered, proposals must be received in the office of the Community Foundation by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 3.

The Marathon County Community Health Assessment is available at the Marathon County Health Department. To find out more about the assessment, call 261-1900.
