Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital Welcomes New Hospitalist
Ministry Health Care is pleased to welcome Kshamata Shalini, M.D., FACP, who recently joined the Hospitalist Department at Ministry Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston.
Hospitalists are internal medicine physicians who specialize in caring for patients who have been hospitalized. In many areas of the country, personal physicians are referring their patients to a Hospitalist when their patients are sick enough that they can no longer be cared for in the outpatient setting.
After earning degrees from Patna Medical College, Bihar, India, Dr. Shalini worked for several years as a Primary Care Physician and completed post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology in her native India. She then completed an internal medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Paterson New Jersey.
Dr. Shalini worked as an internal medicine specialist at Stockbridge-Munsee Health Center, Bowler and Riverside Clinic, Shawano before transitioning into hospital medicine. For the past Two years, she has provided temporary hospitalist coverage at several hospitals in central and northeast Wisconsin, including Ministry Saint Clare’s and Saint Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton which is part of the Ministry Health Care system. With this new appointment, she joins the medical staff of Ministry Saint Clare’s on a full-time basis. A fellow of the American College of Physicians, she has special interest in Critical Care and Hematology/Oncology.
“I believe in always putting the patient first and helping them heal with hope, compassion and excellent medical care,” said Dr. Shalini. Dr. Shalini also holds a masters degree in Indian Classical Music. Besides music, she enjoys reading, movies and travel.
